Update

Hi guys, thanks so much for stopping by today and sending purrayers and purrs and grrs.
And thanks to ML for the wonderful graphic!
We love it!

Ben hasn't vomited since yesterday. But we still can only do small meals at a time,
to make sure he can keep it down.

They began him on metronidazole 250mg tablets, 1/2 once daily this am.

I came in to do treatments on him around 800 ish, (we had already been out for a walk
as SOON as i came in at 715) hoping surgery treatments were out of the way,
so i could actually do things with ben.

I was very happy indeed to find out the dr had already had him out, and gave him a shot of centrine again to make sure he was alright. We just did the fluids.

A tech started giving him small frequent meals of I/D dog food- a very bland diet.
He LOVES it. down it goes!

Xrays are out- because it's obviously not a foreign body. He would have vomited everything.

But we've had no vomiting.

I spoke to the dr, asked what happened? He said he's not sure WHAT caused it. He said it seems like ben had some sort of stomach virus. But, if you are that tiny, you go down hill real fast.

He came home with me at noon, and we've continued the small meals. Basically, it's a tablespoon ONLY every 2 hours. And some water. He's been chomping ice cubes throughout the day. Very happily.

He's not back to his old self... but he's definitely better. We were playing about an hour ago- and he peed on the rug. When i said no, he stopped, and i took him outside. There he finished at the end of the walk.

He hasn't had a stool since the last diarrhea blast yesterday morning.

He's now sleeping in the crate.

He has a lot of urine due to the sub q fluids. But, he didn't even go anywhere near the door to let me know. We're just going to keep working with him and ignore these things until he feels better.

Poor ben.

So, tomorrow, depending on what i wake up to- will determine whether he has to go back to the clinic with me in the morning or not.

It makes me nervous to leave him here all day unsupervised. But,
if he seems well enough, why stress him out by making him go back in?

Poor kid.

So right now... we're just trying to get everything under control.

Please continue to think of us, and we'll update you tomorrow.
