Mom has decided. This year we're going to sponsor an animal from our very favorite shelter, called the Best Friends Animal Society. They are extremely caring and loving to the animals that go there- and are a no kill shelter! If an animal is not adoptable, they will NOT toss him out- or put him down. The animal can live there as their home for the rest of their lives. There are so many wonderful ways you can help them too.
We've decided to sponsor a cat named Big Snow. We love him. He reminds us of our wonderful friend Whitey who was also taken in by the gandalf brothers wonderful and caring bean. We have fallen in love with this look alike:

and his heart, reminds us of our hansel. Always caring and loving and taking care of the others. This is big snow's story:
"....Big Snow would use the litter box if he could! But he can't. He was stepped on by a horse, and can never be a continent cat again. What's worse, his family tossed him out for it. But now he's at Best Friends, where there's a special room for cats with his problem. It's called the Incontinental Suite, and Big Snow loves it there so much that he's appointed himself "head comforter". When new cats arrive, sad and lonely because they too have lost their homes to incontinence, Big Snow is always the first to snuggle up to them. He still has a slightly twisted paw from the horse accident, but that doesn't stop him from inviting the newcomers to play!"
Now, also, we want to help out friends around the blogosphere. So, until Jan 4th, like the auction over at Furrends of the blogosphere, we are selling items to help out Fiona!
Until Jan 4th- all items purchased from mom's etsy site- the total proceeds will be going to Fiona! So go and pick out some items, and we will ship them out to you. Mom keeps nothing for her, and gives all of it to fiona!
So, if you want to help- here is another way, guaranteeing that you will receive the items that you are buying, and they are going to a good cause! All items are under $10 dollars.
(no pressure, i promise, it's just us trying to help- if you can't, you can't, we just appreciate you taking a look.) And that's us doing our part to help others this holiday season!
(btw, we are still on vaycayshun.)
Hi there, the mom is being super lazy. We're still around, but she's off ALL week.
So you know what she's doing with her free time?
Ignoring our blog! this is NOT going to look good on next year's performance review!!!!
We will post soon again, but for right now, mom just needs a break and not to worry about posting right now. So if we miss anything new and late breaking- we are VERY sorry, but we just need time to relax!!!!
--Tesla continues to improve, she's doing fantastic! We let her out almost all the time, unless we're not here. She's going in the litter box every time, and she has gone to the 'no zone' a few times, and smelled there, but that's it. However both of those regions are drenched in 3 solutions. This oxy fresh stuff, Nature's Miracle, AND that great concoction someone suggested to us of baking soda and peroxide and soap. So we're hoping with all of them together will put a stop to unwanted urination stations. :)
Christmas was fantastic here- and we hope all of yours were as well.
We're still waiting on our Secret Paws packages for Ben, and Isis, but we haven't received them yet. We sent all of ours out in early december, but have only received one for the cats. So, we are still waiting on those 2.
That's all the news around here right now, and we'll get back to you, when we get back to you! be patient! We love you all, and will visit you all shortly.
-love,
mom bean,
hansel, tesla, and ben ben.
This morning i received the good news---
the urinalysis is clean! no crystals! no blood! she's perfect!
The vet said he wants to keep her on the special food- and in 2 months, do another test- just to make sure we're on the right track!!
We're healthy in time for christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello all, mom bean here, as promised, with a report on my darling tesla.
Who by the way, happens to be the sweetest bestest cat ever borned.
:)
Took her in this morning with me- she was not too thrilled about that. She doesn't like to take that ride in the ptu to her least favorite place in the world. Although, she does frequently sleep in the ptu- i leave it out ALL the time in their room so that seeing it doesn't alarm them when it's time for a ride.
I was very upset when i heard one of the vets at another clinic called out- as that put OUR vet at that clinic. He knows everything about her- and i was very upset he wasn't going to be there. That put our (free) ultrasound out of the question. And i wasn't making her stay the night OR come back again to do an xray at a later date.
So, i made the decision, suited up, and took an xray of Tesla. She was, of course, the best patient. She was very sweet and said hello to the vets, but none of them really appeal to her- as her favorite is ours. She really likes him a lot. So i was sad for her as well.
We got the urine through cysto- which is putting a needle into the bladder wall and stealing it really. She refuses to do ANYTHING while she's there. So we always have to cysto it. She's so stubborn- that it makes a huge pressure on their bladder- and she STILL didn't go in her litter box there, she just sleeps in there. And she wouldn't do anything. And she of course wouldn't go in her ptu either (i was very happy about this). As soon as we were home- into the box she went and relieved herself. Poor girl.
Anyway- the part we have all been waiting for- the Urinalysis will be back tomorrow am- but it looked nice and normal yellow! And as for the xray, NO STONES!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy about that, and i thank each and everyone of you for your support for her during this! It's all your purrs and prayers that have gotten her through each of her issues since we got her 3 years ago. What a road it's been! I firmly believe that because of you all purring, that's why we found no stones. Thank you all! from the bottom of my heart!
As soon as i have the final report, i will let you all know!!! Our vet will be back tomorrow for sure- so he can look over our results and i will show him the xray as well. :)
Thanks to you all!
-love,
mom bean.
Well, it snowed ALL day long yesterday.
ALL day.
It was beautiful out. Snow covered every inch of our small world.
And their were snow drifts so high, ben could only stick his head out.
People would shovel the walk, and the snow on the side was towering over the little schnauzer who ran with purpose. In an hour, it was time to shovel again.
The ground is still covered with at LEAST a foot of snow, some completely untouched.
Mom says she loves the way the light catches the snow just so... that it sparkles, and she can remember the magic that white fluffy mess held when she was just a child.
Tesla watched as a squirrel sought cover under the cars, and ran from
car to car hiding underneath.
She offered to let him in for a little while, and the squirrel politely declined.
this is our little deck, covered in snow!
this was yesterday afternoon.
mom said the snow drift on the deck was 10 inches.
this time hansel had to stay inside, mom didn't feel like dealing with a wet cat running
wild through the house- but i got to go out with her while she measured.
I like to eat the snow. Have you ever tried that?
it tastes REAL good.
And because this is from our deck, no one has peed on it, so i can eat it. Mom actually
gave me a whole bowl full last night because i love it so much.
oh boy.... i'm a mess! mom says i look REAL cute.
Hansel watches from inside, annoyed that he cannot come out.
mom says 'you can come out but you must stay on your harness.'
hansel said 'nevermind.'
our foot prints are gone from the morning.

~*~*~*~*~
we received these in the mail yesterday from our old friend Hana.
mom put them on the fridge and loves them very very much.
Especially the buttereskie.
May you grace the bridge and bring such joy to everyone above,
as you did to everyone here below.
Hana we miss you.

Hansel: Well the snow is falling really fast this morning.
And i want to go see it!
Can you imagine if you were a woofie, going out in the snow,
man, i'd go pee real fast ! it's cold out there!

I woke up to look out the window, to see this lovely sight!
and the snow falling oh so very very fast ! All around me it whirs!

Look at it!
this was taken at 9 am this morning-
it's not really that dark, but mom's flash on her camera just
made it look like that.
It makes it look mystical!

Because the snow is falling so fast it makes it real hard to
get the snow to stop moving for a second for a photo!
the snow doesn't listen.

All of the weekend plans were canceled because of all the fast falling snow.
So mom and dad are home with us the whole time!
we're very excited about that.
LOOK AT HOW fast it moves!

i climbed onto the chair after this photo,
and mom had to come out and get me because i was hanging on and not
coming down.
i make her real nervous she said.

OH!
An embarrassing shot!
i moved too fast for mom too.

I came back inside- and while mom dried me off,
i looked out to see a fast moving schnau on the deck,
covered in fast moving snow.
It covered him!

Ben: "Mom, can i come in?"

Mom went and got tesla from her room,
and let her go out too. However, she wasn't feeling the snow today,
so she came right in.

But we've had her out all morning with us in the office, to let her be out and about.
These are our pawprints in the snow mound on the deck!
However, the snow is so fast it covered them up already!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
please visit our friends today too,
we just heard our friend Callie passed away yesterday afternoon.
they could use some purrs.
